Installation & Torque Guidelines

1.Framing Check: Ensure studs are straight, properly spaced (typically 16" or 24" on center), and free of major obstructions.

2.Correct Screw Length: Select a screw length that penetrates the framing member by at least 5/8" (16mm). For wood studs, 1 1/4" or 1 5/8" is standard for 1/2" drywall.

3.Screw Placement: Drive screws into the center of the stud. Space screws a maximum of 12" apart on ceiling applications and 16" apart on wall applications. On edges, place screws at least 3/8" from the end.

4.Proper Driving Technique: Use a drywall screw gun or drill with a clutch setting. Drive the screw until the head seats just below the surface of the paper, creating a slight dimple without breaking the paper face. Over-driving will tear the paper; under-driving will leave the head protruding.

5.Joint Compound: Fill the resulting dimple with joint compound for a smooth, finished surface.
